Short Biography:
Faisal Ahmed is the Senior Lecturer
and faculty member of the Department of English at World University of
Bangladesh (WUB). He has been here at WUB since January 2015. Apart from
university teaching, he is an 'International Baccalaureate' Examiner, based in UK
and Teacher Trainer at 'I CAN READ', Singapore. He has achieved teacher
trainer portfolio under Cambridge (PDQ) Assessment International Education, UK
and teacher trainer certificate from Arizona State University, USA in 2018.
Mr. Ahmed is an M.Phil. Fellow
(started in 2019) in English Literature (Literary Aestheticism) at Bangladesh
University of Professionals, Mirpur Cantonment, Dhaka. He previously graduated Master
of Arts in English Literature in 2010 from the University of Nottingham, Nottinghamshire,
UK and Bachelor of Arts in English from Dhaka College under National University,
Gazipur, Bangladesh in 2008.
Faisal Ahmed has published 3 journal
articles and few poems in Bengali and English in The Daily Observer and monthly literary magazine Shondhya. He also presented a conference
paper on “Teaching and Learning Language through Culture and Literature” at
BRAC University. In addition to that Mr. Ahmed has more than 5 journal articles
pending for publication in different national and international journals.
The major research interest of Mr.
Ahmed lies in performing arts, literature, culture, creative writing, post-colonialism,
the enlightenment, modern drama or theatre of the absurd, metaphysical poetry
and transcendentalism.
Mr. Ahmed has a constant endeavour
to develop the level of his personal and professional skills and capabilities.
He ceaselessly strives for excellence in teaching, learning, educational
development and research. Teaching and studying in the field of art, culture
and literature is his passion. He has more than 10 years of experience in
teaching at both secondary and tertiary level along with being teacher trainer
at elementary and secondary level, English Instructor, translator, international
examiner, pedagogical and andragogical expert.
Mr. Ahmed believes in creativity and
innovation which is the only step to prosperity at individual and group level.
Apart from literature, arts, music, culture, philosophy and international
relations are also in his interest list. Creative writing is his added
competence. He has an aspiration to contribute to the fields of arts, culture,
literature and intellectualism to make the world a better place to live in. He
thinks that the fields of arts, culture and literature should be provided equal
patronage like those of science.
Reading literary books, music, singing
and travelling are the favourite hobbies of Mr. Ahmed. In addition to those, he
is a motivational speaker, writer, poet, critic and bibliomaniac. He has a
great desire for travelling around the world.
