Short Biography:
Md. Nurullah Patwary, born in Chandpur, has over 18 years of teaching experience including 9 years of university teaching in the field of English Language Teaching (ELT). He graduated with a BA and MA degree in English Language Teaching from the University of Dhaka in 1993 and 1997 respectively and was awarded M. Phil. in 2007 by the same university. Working currently as an Assistant Professor of English at World University of Bangladesh, he is also responsible for the curriculum development programme of the ELT courses of the department of English of the university. He has also worked in different capacities in three other leading universities of Bangladesh—United International University, East West University and Independent University of Bangladesh.
He nurtures a keen interest and has built skills in syllabus design, material development, teaching functional English, phonetics and phonology and presentation skills development courses at the tertiary level and conducting teacher training programmes in different levels of education in Bangladesh. He is also a life member of Bangladesh English Language Teachers’ Association (BELTA). He has aslo been working as the Associate Editor of WUB Newsletter for the last five years.
With an M. Phil. in ELT, and
currently working as a PhD research fellow at BUP, Mr. Nurullah has extensively
devoted to research work and so far, published four articles in two notable
national and international peer reviewed journals and presented three research
papers in three international conferences in the field of English language
teaching (ELT). After successful completion of his Ph. D., he is dreaming of
making a significant contribution to the knowledge generation and the
development of ELT programmes at the tertiary level of education in Bangladesh
and to the overall development of Bangladeshi education culture.
