The Department of English believes in the value of extra-curricular engagement to enrich students' academic experience and foster their personal development. In line with this philosophy, it has established the "World English Club" as a multifaceted platform aimed at enhancing students' understanding of literature, language, and culture while nurturing their interpersonal communication skills and artistic talents. The club comprises various wings, each dedicated to specific activities:
Literary & Language Wing: This wing provides a platform for students to explore a diverse range of literary ideas and theories through seminars, workshops, and open discussions. It aims to improve critical thinking abilities and expand language diversity and proficiency.
Cultural & Creative Wing: The Cultural wing within the World English Club organizes a plethora of cultural activities, including drama performances, music events, and recitation sessions. These endeavors aim to cultivate creativity and aesthetic appreciation among students.
Debate & Communication Wing: The Debate wing focuses on enhancing students' rationality and critical thinking skills while also honing their language abilities. It offers ample opportunities for practicing debating and hosts intra-departmental and interdepartmental competitions.
Sports & Recreation Wing: The Sports wing endeavors to promote physical well-being and teamwork through various indoor and outdoor recreational activities. It organizes different sports events to encourage students' participation and cooperation.
Each club operates
under a well-organized committee, and students interested in joining any of the
clubs are encouraged to reach out to the department for membership details.
